Programs
A needs analysis is performed prior to in-class time. Each program
is then tailored to the needs of the participant(s) and to the requirements
of the client organization.
Our training philosophy begins with the assumption that all classroom
activities must be directly of value to the learner. The interests
and concerns of participants provide the program core around which
all classroom activities are based. Research and our experience
tells us that a wide variety of brief, relevant exercises best engage
the learner. Training sessions further develop knowledge, skills
and attitudes.
Executive Country Briefing
Whether a company executive is meeting with an international colleague
at home or abroad, this briefing provides a succinct country background.
The executive becomes more comfortable and effective in building
relationships with international associates.
Cross-Cultural Business Skills
Nationals from two or more countries, who have a business task to
perform, come together to understand each other better. They have
a facilitated discussion on effective communication, persuasion,
disagreement, building relationships and gaining commitment, thus
laying the groundwork for business success.
Recruiting and Retaining Culturally Different Employees
Recruiters from human resources, senior management and functional line managers will benefit from this program. Cultural challenges and solutions are presented for each stage – resume, interview, integration and promotion.
Domestic Workgroup With International Clients
This program can be tailored to a specific country, a region or
to international business in general. Participants learn about communication
patterns, persuasion, disagreement, building relationships, and
gaining commitment while working across cultures.
Off-Site Workgroup Meeting
This program offers an interactive and fun way to introduce a team
to important intercultural topics. Whether an executive team or
departmental workgroup, this session will help participants to better
build international relationships.
Intercultural Coaching
One-on-one coaching sessions help build competence in those working
with people of other cultures. A needs analysis helps determine
the competencies to be addressed. A unique program is established
to assist and monitor progress.
Candidate Self-Assessment
Potential candidates for international assignment are assisted in
determining whether this type of relocation is right for them. The
three areas of self, career and family are explored. The two step
process involves completing a world class on-line questionnaire
and is followed by a facilitated decision-making process.
Expatriate Relocation
For relocating expatriates, and if applicable, their families, this
program presents a mixture of work-related topics and family topics
according to client needs. Our innovative, integrated family program
has the family together for certain program segments but mainly
has the children in a nearby room with a special facilitator to
handle material in an age-appropriate manner. A modified version
of this program is offered to rotational employees and business
travellers.
Inpatriate Relocation
Employees and their families relocating to Canada are assisted in
their work and non-work transition. Topics covered vary depending
on client need. We assist inpatriates from as near as the United
States to as far as Africa and Asia.
Calgary Destination Services
Culture Connect helps your organization welcome an inpatriate and
family to Canada. Services may include such items as airport pickup,
apartment expectations, shopping trip, and classroom time. Topics
may include city logistics, city and country quick facts, cross-cultural
comparisons and culture shock.
Inpatriate Educational Consulting
The inpatriate family is assisted in finding the optimal school
situation for their children. An overview of the local school system
is provided. Family questions regarding special interests and needs
are addressed.
Repatriation
The returning employee and family are provided information and tools
to help them make a successful reintegration into Canadian society.
Applying newly acquired knowledge and skills to workplace, social
and educational roles are key components of this program.
Diversity Workshops
Building on the cross-cultural complexity of domestic workforces,
this program can address such topics as cross-cultural communication,
workgroup effectiveness, recruitment and retention. Diverse workgroups
are strengthened and made more effective.
Keynote Speeches
A well-presented, humorous and meaningful speech is a great way
to open a conference. The audience is informed, entertained and
motivated.
